STEM Savvy provides coaching for our students in the FIRST LEGO League (FLL) program. The program runs from the end of summer until early January, with students meeting 7 - 10 hours a week. Our previous teams include ROBOQUEENS and YLASER.
Through FLL, students, in grades 5th - 8th, will:
Learn robotics & coding through competition
Learn and apply the Engineering Design Process
Research a real world problem and design a unique solution
Enhance teamwork & public speaking skills.
We offer a robotics class for students to learn about coding, robots in our world and teamwork. The program is open to students in 5th grade through high school. Upon completion, students will have the introductory skills necessary to take other robotics classes as well as participate on a FIRST LEGO League team in their school or community.
The program provides:
8 and 10 week training classes using the LEGO Mindstorms software and EV3 curriculum
Introduction to EV3 movements, motors, and sensors
Small group projects with hands on application
